For generations Shorty's bar and Cafe was a local Winona landmark. Shortys was a dining and drinking establishment which had the unusual distinction of being frequented by both University students from WSU, just a block away, as well as by neighborhood residents and other "townies". Sadly, a few years ago this beloved local hangout was razed by fire. The burned out structure sat for years as a neighborhood eyesore. Bluff City Properties has now recycled the building into luxury student housing. The building now features a large three-bedroom apartment upstairs and five private deluxe studio lodging rooms-four on the first floor and one on the second floor. The building is located across from the Amtrak station, one block from WSU and just a few blocks from beautiful Lake Park with miles of bike trails meandering around beautiful East and West Lakes Winona. Even though there is ample parking, you will rarely need a vehicle: the downtown business district is only a short walk from your new home.
