	Shorty's Greenhouse is a brand new building located at 528 Center Street in Winona, MN, one block east of the WSU Main Campus This is a lodging facility designed for Winona college students seeking high-quality , secure, private housing. Each unit is furnished with a futon, chair and study area . A private kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator is provided in each unit.

Security:
The building has a new sprinkler system and and electronic key pass entry. For added security, there is controlled access for the main entrance from each unit..

Comfort:
Large passive solar windows provide light and warmth in winter. Each unit has separately controlled heat and A/C. Your private bathroom has soft water conditioning. Above-code insulation throughout results in efficient, private space for the scholar to study and relax.
Convenience:
Your private unit is 150 yards from the main campus at WSU. A private, off-street parking space is guaranteed for each renter. Located across the street from the newly remodeled train station, you can travel between the Twin Cities, Chicago areas and beyond, to Winona via Amtrack. With bike lanes throughout the city, excellent city bus service, the WSU shuttle, and now a “car-share program” at WSU, many learners choose to leave their cars at home! High-speed Internet, phone line and cable TV connections are available in each unit, at your option.

Student Life:
Shorty’s has a unit to fit your lifestyle. Choose a smaller economy unit (still nearly twice as large as a shared campus dorm), or a spacious unit with cathedral ceilings and skylights ( still less expensive than a shared campus dorm room half the size). Shorty’s is a 5-minute walk to the center of the WSU main campus. You choose to be in the center of the campus community as you desire, with the convenience to return to the privacy and comfort of your own space, on your schedule.

Economy:
Shorty’s offers units of various sizes and prices. Regardless of the unit you choose, you will pay much less than the cost of a private university dorm room. For convenience, please consider the WSU meal plan. It’s available to you, but not required ( as in most campus dorms) at Shorty’s. Many learners find it is preferable and less expensive, to stock their private fridge. Unlike a university dorm, there is no requirement to vacate your unit during holiday breaks, or between semester/terms.
